Pro golf has introduced a new prize for the course record along with a crypto bonus of $50,000 in the new tournament of the season.
DP World Tour and digital asset platform Nexo launch have joined forces to launch a new performance-based prize fund. This is the first time that a crypto incentive is being given in professional golf.
The DP World Tour, previously known as the European Tour, is the world’s top men’s golf tour with events in Europe and other countries. Now they have joined forces with Nexo to launch a new prize called the Course Record Presented by Nexo. This prize will be given for the first time from 7 to 10 August at the Trump International Golf Course, Aberdeen, Scotland.

Nexo Launch Rolling Prize Works
Under this new plan, the player who sets a new course record in each tournament will receive a prize of 10 thousand dollars. If no player sets a record in any tournament, this prize will be increased to 10 thousand dollars in the next event. When a player’s record is established till the end, the prize starts again from zero.
To make this launch special, Nexo is giving an additional 50 thousand dollars bonus in this week’s Nexo Championship. This bonus will be given only in Nexo Tokens and will be for this event only and will not be given in other future events.

As with the DP World Tour, only events played on the same course qualify for the prize. The round will only be counted if at least 36 holes are completed and no difficulties are caused by the weather.
Nexo’s co-founder Antoni Trenchev has called the prize a “milestone” that is bringing digital technology into top level sports.
The prize is part of a major business deal between DP World Tour and Nexo. In July, Nexo was made the Official Digital Wealth Platform of DP World Tour and the agreement will run until 2027.
Growing Role in Golf and Regional Impact
Not just the sport, the Nexo launch Championship is also expected to benefit the local economy. Golf tourism is earning more than $400 million for Scotland each year. Such events prolong the season and attract worldwide attention.
10 course records have been set in 2024 and 6 in 2025 so far. This new prize system makes the season even more exciting and promotes the Race to Dubai calendar.
This rolling prize fund will continue until the DP World Tour Championship, which is the last event of the season. After that this prize will start again from the 2026 season
Why This Matters
This new plan of DP World Tour and Nexo shows that now digital assets and top-level sports are coming closer to each other. It is introducing a new way of rewards for players.
